Author John Greenburg has spent a number of years doing historical research on football in the archives of such universities as Northwestern, Notre Dame, Cal.-Berkeley, Chicago, and the University of the Pacific. He served as historian for the All-American Football Foundation, and appeared in ESPN's three-part documentary Rites of Autumn, on the history of college football.
