Mark Lavie
February 02 2015
The award-winning Mark Lavie is an American-Israeli journalist who has been covering the Middle East since 1972, mostly from Israel. He served as radio broadcaster, print wire reporter and editor for the Associated Press, and broadcast for various radio networks, including NPR, NBC and the CBC. After reporting such stories as the 1973 Yom Kippur war, Middle East peace efforts, and Palestinian uprisings in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, Lavie transferred to Egypt on a two-year assignment in 2011, just in time for all of the major events of Arab Spring.
